On Friday, 23 August, at 10.15 a.m., a guest seminar on "The microbial ecologist's view on urban planning: from soil to plants and beyond" will take place in the auditorium of the Citrina House of the University of Tartu (Riia 23b/1, room 218). The lecturer is Dr. Kim Yrjälä from Helsinki University.
Dr. Kim Yrjälä holds a position as an adjunct professor at the University of Helsinki and at SYKLI Environmental College. He specializes in environmental microbiology and the carbon-neutral circular economy. He has an extensive academic and research background, focusing on sustainable land use, plant-microbial interactions, microbial communities in peatlands, phytoremediation, and urban sustainability.
